Visit to the summit craters
The craters at the summit represent the most important and appealing area of volcanic activity.
An outstanding moment in the journey to Sicily, the meeting place between forces of nature capable of destroying, and at the same time creating, a land unique and fascinating such as Etna.
We go uphill with the cable-car as far as 2900m s.l.m. (Torre Filosofo), from here we proceed on foot towards the summit craters (3340m s.l.m.), after the visit we go downhill along the pyroclastic deposits from the last eruption following partly along the edge of the cliff that defines the large basin of the "Bove" Valley and we arrive finally at the Sapienza Shelter (1900m s.l.m.).
For the excursion to the summit area you will have the service of an Alpine guide and/or a volcanologist.

PSYCHO-PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: not suitable for people with health problems in particular with problems to the cardio-respiratory.
RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT:
We recommend that all our members wear trekking shoes, with the correct socks, and bring a wind-jacket because the temperature can be 10-15°C colder than in the towns. Please also bring 2 litres of water.
